(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, November 28, 2012 ) Manila, Mindoro, San Jose Philippines, and Hong Kong, China -- Web Editors client and California photographer Brent Stanley broke from his usual routine of recording the important wedding days of his clients to cover the Dutch Christian band Make a Point’s Asian tour. The Make a Point band is part of the Point Youth organization sponsored by the Johan Maasbach World Mission Foundation in Holland. The foundation has been dedicated to Christian missionary work in both Holland and overseas for over 60 years reaching out to the youth around the world with their message.
The Make A Point band is part of the youth outreach the David Maasbach Organization has been doing in Asia through their Point Youth program. They can be heard on the Maasbach radio station. The Make A Point band began their journey in Manila and Jan Jose in the Mindoro province of the Philippines before ending in Hong Kong. At each location, the band was welcomed as guests of the local church or chapter of the Maasbach organization before putting on a concert for the locals of the area. Unlike other organizations that might visit the region, the Maasbach believe, through outreach to others in the community, they can share their faith. The Maasbach Organization do this through education, music, motivational speaking, and entertainment.
After traveling through the Philippines, the group headed into Hong Kong and China to continue their tour. Brent Stanley had this to say about the journey “When the band was resting I was out taking the subway and taxi's into town to document the city life, culture, buildings and people.” While there, Brent found the culture to be vibrant and welcoming. Through his camera lens, Stanley was able to photograph a great cross-section of life in the city, sharing these images on his website.
Accompanying Stanley on his journey was fellow photographer Jesselyn Maasbach who has been with the Maasbach organization for many years. While Brent spends most of his time behind the camera, Jesselyn Maasbach took a few photos of him. Pastor David Maasbach manages the organization when he is not at The Blessing Capitol Gospel Centre: The Hague. Maasbach was the first Dutch preacher to receive nationwide coverage on TV broadcast stations like SBS 6. For over 60 years, Maasbach has been spreading his message through television, books, youth outreach such as orphanages and schools, festivals, summer camps, and music festivals like the one that Brent Stanley returned from that Point Youth group put together.
