Written and directed by Ben Toth, 'SooSoo Conquer PARADISE' is an independent dark comedy that tells the story of SooSoo Gooch, the TV personality who must face her greatest test - remaining "poised" in the public eye after her sister's shocking murder.
Turning to her psychiatrist for help, SooSoo hopes that the assistance of modern medicine will cure her of her aching heart, and help her move past this difficult time.
Pressure begins to mount when the President of the studio attempts to urge SooSoo into an early retirement. Believing that her time in the spotlight is not over, SooSoo begins a powerful journey of self-discovery and growth, as she turns to her roots for guidance.
But suddenly, things take a wicked turn when the same killer who murdered her sister returns to finish the job.
'SooSoo Conquer PARADISE' was produced completely out-of-pocket, and stars up-and-coming actress Xochitl Duran as the title character. The film also features an original score by the very talented composer, Jordan Halpern.
The film premiered at Two Roads Theatre - a quaint black box style venue located in Studio City, on Saturday, February 7, 2015. Both screenings were sold out as folks lined up and down the block for a chance to catch this unique feature!
Step and Repeat LA provided the entire look for the event – including the red carpet, velvet ropes, and a very impressive customized projector screen that made the event a glamorous spectacle!
Overall, the premiere was a huge success for the film's creators! What's next? Using funds raised at the event, the producers are planning to hit the festival circuit.
