(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 11, 2010 ) NEW YORK, NY – In a remarkable act of generosity and uncommon human spirit, two teens from New York have demonstrated that even the smallest among us can make a difference.
After 13 year-old Baby Triggy headed to the streets in January with nothing but a boom box and a mission, and returned with over $3,500 in donations to the Red Cross Haitian Earthquake Relief Fund, he realized that there was only so much he could do alone to help alleviate the suffering of the hundreds of thousands of recently displaced Haitian families, so he got help. Triggy joined forces last week with Young Deon and manager Curtis Anderson to write, record, and produce “New Visions (Song for Haiti)”. An inspirational, uplifting song about the “beautiful island” of Haiti, the single immediately caught the attention of Program Director Jay Stevens of KISS 98.7 FM in Alexandria, GA.
“This song’s gonna be a monster,” offers Stevens. “It’s a great song, it’s on point, and the age of these kids really makes the song stand out. 98.7 wants to congratulate them for their extraordinary effort in helping Haiti.”
In 2009, Baby Triggy created Lunch Box Recordz, a label for kids, run by kids, to develop new pop, rock, and hip hop artists to diversify the music group. Lunch Box Recordz signed their first artist, Young Deon, in 2009 who then debuted alongside Universal artist Cassie / DJWebstar on the single “BFF”.
The single “New Visions (Song for Haiti)” will soon be available on iTunes – and 100% of download proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross for Haitian earthquake relief. Right now, the single is available for preview on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/deonmusicpage and http://www.myspace.com/babytriggy .
