Not even a year launched, and only two short months of a key name change to their coveted radio broadcast, creators Chris Greenman and Lee Honish are delivering a solid elbow in the MMA world that mimicked their predictions of the UFC debut on Versus and the fight outcomes.
International Journalism Review (IJR) caught up with PFN's President and CEO, Chris Greenman via telephone interview and as always Greenman was happy to give us some insight. We asked Greenman his predictions on the UFC Versus card and the status on ProFightNetwork.
Greenman stated, "I am beyond belief on the rise of MMABAY Radio, I mean in the last few weeks we have had in depth interviews from Wanderlei Silva, Randy Couture, Dan Hardy, Krzysztof Soszynski, Michael Bisping, Matt Brown, and the list goes on. ProFightNetwork has just stayed course with alliances that are non-biased and truly for the sport of MMA. We basically run a non-profit for the most part, but everyone involved are key people in MMA and we really just put it all together. I was seriously surprised when our MMA forum passed up Sherdog, mmaplayground, mmaboards, etc. on Google's first page. People are liking the unique of the wall and behind the scene content or maybe our MMA training videos, who knows? It's an honor to be mentioned with those big guys and it's all because of the hosts of our show and my partner Lee Honish. Also being involved with Randy Couture and running his sales for XCAP has been an unforeseen privilege as well. Randy is by far the most stand up fighter I have ever met in MMA & has a great level headed business mind, believe me I have met a lot and he is a rarity."
"For the record, Isaac Kuhlman the owner of LV Sports Magazine, Michael Pepper (MMABAY), Lee Honish, and I always give our predictions on UFC fights on MMABAY Radio. In the last 16 months since doing it and keeping stats, we have an 87% accurate prediction in featured fights. If you like to bet, save your money on 900 numbers and just listen in for free. I tried to warn Krzysztof Soszynski not to go against the panel when it came time to get his prediction on the Vera and Jones outcome, but I do get it, he trains with Vera and they are friends. I remember when I was asked my prediction the first time Couture and Liddell fight, I too sided with my buddy but deep down I knew it was not a good matchup for Chuck. Soszynski was an awesome guest and he literally changed my long time vote of the best MMA pound for pound fighter in the world from Fedor Emelianenko to Georges St. Pierre.
IJR has been following PFN from its beginnings and the sport of MMA in general. The toughest on-going question that seems to be impossible to get the real MMA community to agree upon is closer to being accurately answered. IJR agrees with the MMA and UFC Legends, current UFC top contenders, and arguably the most nonbiased group in the MMA world in ProFightNetwork and MMABAY, Georges St. Pierre is the MMA top Pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
