With the help of exterior lights, street level merchants can compete for one of 11 prizes to be announced at the annual New YearÂ’s Eve Celebration with displays able to be seen until January 10, 2012. The Riverwalk Plaza Hotel is one of the contest participants.
Awards to be handed out include: best storefront, two-story building or less, two-story building or taller, most creative, best collaboration, criticÂ’s choice chosen by the media, downtowner's choice chosen by downtown residents, best hospitality for hotels only, best historical building, the CPS award for greenest display and the people choice to be determined by public votes via Facebook.
With the Riverwalk Plaza Hotel vying for their share of awards, the public can do their part by voting for the San Antonio touchstone at their official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/RiverwalkPlaza.
