Tarantino Opines Regarding “How I Met Your Mother” and “News Room” reports Alluc

(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, January 07, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- It is no secret that cult-movie hero Quentin Tarantino is a lover of film. He has nothing short of a ravenous appetite for film in general. The writer and director loves to fill his own flicks with references from anything from gangster films from the '70s to kung-fu movies from across the pacific. But not as many fanatics and casual fans know that Tarantino also loves to intake more mainstream shows.

"Hands down, my favorite show is 'How I Met Your Mother,' " he said in a recent interview with MTV News' Josh Horowitz. "I've been watching that since the very first episode, so that's the one show that I always keep watching."

When he is not enjoying the epic comedy-saga that is How I Met Your Mother, Tarantino enjoys another lord of the written art, Aaron Sorkin, who is famed for movies like “A Few Good Men” and television sensation “The West Wing”. "But I love 'Newsroom.' That writing, every week, is just so exciting," he added.

Tarantino has experience working in the television show system, and has directed episodes of “ER” as well as “CSI”. However, the film legend has said he's cut down on his TV consumption as it was starting to get in the way of his first love, creating his own film.

"I was for a while, about six years ago. I was watching a lot of the serialized television shows," he said. "I had to cut them out because I stopped going to movies because I was always caught up in four different serialized shows and the box set for this one and that one. I had to go, 'Look, I ain't about that. I'm about movies. I'd rather go out to the theaters.' "

"Django Unchained," Tarantino's latest film, starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson, opens in theaters on Christmas Day.
