(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, February 11, 2013 ) Detroit, MI -- With all of the celebration, now over and done with, and all of the numerous diplomats from around the world having returned to their respective homelands; Robert Shumake, a recognized businessman, philanthropist and author, reflects on the first Ambassadors Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C. Shumake acted as the business chair for the Ball - with responsibility for overseeing the many facets that lead to the events successful execution. The Ball took place on the evening of President Barack Obama’s second inauguration to office, and was actually steps away from the President’s official inaugural ball.
“The Ambassadors Ball was not only an opportunity to celebrate our nation moving forward with the re-election of the President, it was also a venue to recognize the work of a cadre of global ambassadors; who all came together from the four corners of the globe - to unite in the spirit of peace and diplomacy. This is an event that was totally inconceivable just twenty years ago, but there we were in the midst of officials from countries as far flung as Botswana (where Shumake is Honorary Counsel) to Monaco. This was literally a who’s who of global diplomacy.”
“With the success of this massive event, I can only say that we are looking forward to the next event that brings us all together again,” added Shumake. It is not clear at this time, whether that next event will be centered around the inauguration of the next U.S. President, or if there will be interim events hosted by the committee that “worked so diligently to execute this event.”
