(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, February 11, 2013 ) Recognized businessman, philanthropist and author, Robert Shumake recently received a letter of extreme appreciation for his efforts in making a success of the recent Ambassadors Inaugural Ball, which took place in Washington, D.C. on the night of the U.S. President’s second inauguration. Along with honoring Barack Obama’s second election to the presidency, the event also celebrated the work of ambassadors from many different nations.
The Ball was held within steps of the President’s two official inaugural events, and was attended by hundreds of political figures, business leaders and celebrities. “I consider it a privilege to have been able to take an active roll in the development and execution of this particular event,” said Shumake. “There were many scattered celebrations on that evening, but this event was especially near and dear to my heart. The Ambassadors Ball was built around a theme of global peace and unity - celebrating our diverse cultures and backgrounds - rather than allowing them to separate everyone.”
Excerpts from the letter made cle10ar that Shumake’s contribution to the many tasks leading up to, during and after the Ball were “invaluable & the central cause for the event’s success.” For his part, shumake says that he “hopes to see additional diplomatic relationships develop, as a result of the parties who were able to come together - some for the very first time.”
