(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, February 26, 2013 ) Traverse City, MI -- According to a new survey, Indian travelers consider Wi-Fi, free breakfast and beverages as important as amenities when looking for a hotel to stay at or frequent.
“Among Indian travelers, 26 per cent consider Wi-Fi as an important amenity while looking for hotel accommodation during leisure travel. The demand for free Wi-Fi doubles to 55 per cent for business travelers,” according to a Hotels.com survey.
The increase in airlines and airports that offer Wi-Fi, along with more tech-savvy travelers, the expectation of continued connectivity during travel is considered a must for hotels, according to senior PR manager, APAC Zoe Chan.
Over 34% of global travelers stated that Wi-Fi is the most noted necessary item when persons are considering a leisure stay. Another 56% state that free Wi-Fi was the most important must-have on any travel experience.
“Travelers are using tablets, smart phones and laptops to plan activities, stay connected to family and even order a delivery meal straight to their hotel room, so it’s no surprise they require free and fast Wi-Fi,” he added.
Another 48% of Indians wanted complimentary breakfast as a standard when entering a hotel in 2013. Nearly 20% of the same travelers wanted items in their room refrigerator wo come without charge, according to the survey.
For all global travelers, free breakfast ranked as the favorite addition to a stay, with 31% wanting to see it become a standard at hotels in 2013. Hydration is apparently important to many travelers as well, as 43% chose complimentary bottled water as the simple amenity that they most want to see added to any hotel stay. Indians as well were interested in the bottled water at 42% of total individuals surveyed.
Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Brazil were the only countries that rated something above bottled water: complimentary power adapters.
