Agam Berry Talks about the Potential of Bring MOOCÂ’s to India

(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, May 17, 2013 ) New York, NY -- Agam Berry who runs popular blog agamberry.net now gives his insight on the importance to bring Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) to India.

Top international universities across the globe will provide the educational programs of MOOC’s and these programs will be tailored according to the Indian student’s needs. The courses will be structured according to the relevance of different sectors and will get AICTE and UGC recognition.

Agam Berry reveals that Indian education sector is an $85 billion opportunity at present, which is expected to grow to $110 billion within next two years. He says, “In spite of prolific opportunities in the Indian education sector, the quality of education is poor. This is evident from the fact that 25% of Indian population is illiterate, 7% students are graduate, 15% reach high school. Moreover, there are only enough seats for 7% of Indian college-age population. In such situation, MOOC can create many opportunities.”

He also says that because the students will learn from home, it will be a stress free education experience. Students can watch every lecture, as many times they want, which means more flexibility for different students with abilities to grasp things at diverse pace.

These educational programs are expected bring best professors around the world. In between 12 to 15 minutes of every lecture, there will be a pop quiz, which students need to crack with 90% accuracy. This means only when a student masters the study material, he/she would move to the next.

Agam Berry continues to inform about other essential features of MOOC. “These courses will bring detailed insights on student performance which can be provided to the employers later. This will also reduce the chances of fraud. In addition, there will be peer to peer support so that every question get answered real time,” adds Berry.

“Thanks to Agam Berry for informing about MOOC’s and I think it has the potential to give new dimension to the Indian education system. I will surely opt for the some classes,” says a secondary student in India.

There will be automated testing and the cost of content delivery is expected to be almost zero for MOOC’s. Moreover, there will be no scalability restrictions.
