I-Octane's shows have been patronized by throngs over the past three years. Their presence at the shows has rocketed their popularity up to new heights. He has become a headliner through the festival, thanks in part to being allowed to enjoy the full spectrum of his live shows, which hold no time constraints.

I-Octane remembers his first Reggae Sumfest performance, as he opened the show with five individuals in the venue. He worked his way through the show taking on middle-order positions during the subsequent festivals. In 2011 he gave the crowd a performance they could not forget, and launched him into more adored popularity.
"For my first performance, I was not looking at it from a crowd perspective. I was looking at it that I was a young youth from off the road getting the opportunity to even open a show like Sumfest," he said.
The strategy employed by I-Octane is to give the fans what they want, and that is no hint of what they'll get. He enjoys the concept of keeping fans on their toes, as long as he's sure they know whatever they receive will be grand.
"This will not be just a 2:30 performance for me. I am coming with a different perspective this year. It is not an ego thing for me anymore. This year will be more like bringing down the curtains in one harmony and unity," stated I-Octane.
