(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, August 10, 2013 ) Sarasota, FL -- When the world was set to end on December 21, 2012, stores in the Siberian city began selling doomsday kits to people who believed the world would end. However, now that the date has come and passed, the kits are still being sold, just in case.
The kits contain medications, bandages and activated charcoal for food poisoning, validol, which is a heart drug and Valeriana, which are a sedative in the form of drops or pills. The kits also contained buckwheat grain, a tin of preserved fish, and last but not least, a little bottle of vodka.
There are many variants of the kit, some including notepads and pencils to record impressions of the world’s end, candles, matches, and soap. Salesmen for the doomsday kits were posting them online selling them all over the world, as much as 890 roubles, which is equivalent to $28.66.
While there have been many theories on the end of the world, many mainstream academics around the world reject them as pseudosciences.
