(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, September 06, 2013 ) Spokane, WA -- The Zharmae Publishing Press is proud to announce the recent signing of author Daniel Pike. The first book in his Dream Box trilogy titled The Wolf of Descarta, will be released on November 21, 2013
The Wolf of Descarta is a Sci-Fi novel with romantic elements. Jaren Reese is a red collar trapped at the bottom of Descarta’s genetic caste system. His unfavorable status compels him to forge a digital identity for himself within the Dream Box, the Wolf Knight Balmus, and this rendering ultimately begins to have more meaning to him than his physical self. Soon, Reese is split between two consciousnesses: the real and the hyper-real, the waking world of disappointments and the digital dream.
Though he has access to billions of lives inside the Dream Box, the system's laws prohibit Linkers from disclosing personal information or meeting one another on the outside. Because of this sanction, even his greatest accomplishments remain only fantasies and his fantasy lover remains out of his reach.
In his search for meaning, he carries out a relationship with a perfect stranger, leads a guild in a Fantasy game, and forges friendships with members of the higher caste--people he could never know outside of the Dream Box. But when the Cyberspace Reese depends on crashes due to the evolution of a hostile A.I. life form, a secret military branch commissions a team of gamers and hackers to eliminate the threat and Reese is given the chance of a lifetime but the coming war is one that must be waged on two fronts and Reese has to decide just how much he’s willing to loose.
Daniel Pike is a high school English teacher, author, blogger, and father of two energetic daughters. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from ASU as well as his Masters in Education. His first novel, Repressed Memories, was written when he was 17 years old and high on anime. He openly admits that most of the writing took place in his Algebra class. Our first look into The Wolf of Descarta can be found in TZPP’s RealLies Anthology but keep yours eyes peeled for the full book this coming November.
