Dr. Aziz, the founder of The Center, and a confidence coach and clinical psychologist, was recently interviewed regarding the new project.
"The new website is designed to provide immediate resources, information, and help to people in need," says Dr. Aziz. "Much of the shyness and social anxiety information accessible on the web is unfortunately geared towards teaching men dating techniques. These are often in the category of pickup artists that teach techniques to seduce women that are based on unhealthy relationship dynamics. I wanted to provide something different. Something based on sound psychological principles that can help men build a foundation of confidence and create healthy relationships."
Social anxiety is a growing problem in the United States, and impacts millions of Americans each year. Sufferers experience a decreased ability to create social networks, pursue employment, and sustain romantic relationships. Individuals with social anxiety will often be underpaid, or perform lower level jobs than they are capable of. Promotion to management, interviewing for a higher level position, and other aspects of career progression can be hindered due to the social fears and poor self-esteem that accompany social anxiety.
According to Dr. Aziz in a recent interview, "poor job performance and career stagnation are two major problems related to social anxiety. Many men feel anxious in meetings and other work settings, and tend to keep quiet and avoid speaking up. This avoidance makes matters worse and eventually leads to a pattern of being overlooked at work."

Dr. Aziz was clear to say that this site is different than many of the dating and confidence building sites on the web. "The problem with the pickup artist sites," states Dr. Aziz "is that they simply teach shy men another set of rules about how they should be. I have many men who are recovering from what they learned from these teachers. In some ways, these approaches can greatly inhibit a man's ability to create a healthy, lasting relationship with a woman."
The new site is designed to provide in depth information and solutions to each of the problems of social anxiety. Each page contains an extended video and a detailed article addressing the problem and provides steps towards resolving it.
