New Interesting Documentary Series "The Mutt" Connects Shelter Dogs to Forever Homes

(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, March 05, 2014 ) Chicago, IL -- James Barry, an entrepreneur, businessman, and composer, recently announced the launch of his new project, “The Mutt.” Based on famous reality dating shows, “The Mutt” helps Shelter Dogs find permanent homes with humans looking for a furry companion.

On each weekly episode of “The Mutt,” shelter dogs will choose their new owners from three contestants. Each contestant will participate in a series of challenges and activities that will test their ability to be a good companion to their potential canine friend. “The Mutt” intends to mix fun with education—the challenges include games in the park, managing aggression, and daily care—and in each episode, canine and human relations will be developed.

The host of the show, Louisa Morrissey, is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer who will travel through the US and select an abandoned pup from a shelter. She will help the participants screen potential matches since many human and canine personalities will be showcased. The show ultimately intends to improve human and canine bonds, encourage the adoption of all types of animals, and showcase local shelters.

“Every day, too many perfectly adoptable dogs are euthanized in shelters across America because they aren’t placed in loving homes,” stated an article on the show’s Kickstarter page.

“These furry, wet-nosed, tufty-pawed, bottomless-pits-of-love are at the mercy of time and humans, and we intend to put a spotlight on these animals’ plights by encouraging the audience to rescue pets from a local kennel and learn what it takes to have a great pet/owner relationship.”

“The Mutt” will begin filming one of its New Television Pilots soon. Supporters interested in supporting the television series can make a pledge through Kickstarter. “The Mutt” hopes to find a home on networks such as The Discovery Channel, The Travel Channel, and The Learning Channel.

Individuals interested in learning more about “The Mutt” can visit the show’s Kickstarter page for additional information.
