using the chromatic mode of the Tanbi Music Metronome Tuner

(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, September 17, 2014 ) Fort Myers, Florida -- The Tanbi Music MT560GB was launched on Amazon more than 6 months ago. The instructional video series showing how this metronome tuner can be used was launched recently with a video displaying a standard tuning of a guitar using the included pickup clip. A second video in this series was published last week, demonstrating the usage of this digital tuner's chromatic mode.

When using a chromatic tuner, the tuner is not programmed with an a-priory set of notes, as is done in the automatic tuning modes, and so it will not "know" in advance what pitch the player is looking for. Instead, the chromatic tuner will detect the note corresponding to the current sound produced by the instrument and display it (or the closest full note) on the screen, and lets the player decide if it is the desired note or not.

This mode of tuning is more natural when tuning a guitar to a non-standard tuning scale, and of course also when tuning other instruments, besides the guitar and the bass guitar. The player has in this way the flexibility to decide for each string what would be the best note tune it to.

The new video shows how a guitar can be tuned to the popular DADGAD tuning. It should be noted that this specific tuning mode can be achieved more easily with this metronome tuner using the automatic guitar tuning mode with the "step-down" button (the "~" button), but for the sake of the example the chromatic mode was used. A video showing the step-down method of tuning is scheduled to be published in the future, according to Tanbi Music representatives.

In DADGAD tuning, both the lower E and the higher E strings are tuned one full-note down, to D ("full step down"), and so is the second-highest note, which is usually tuned to B. DADGAD tuning, which is also called Celtic tuning, is very popular among acoustic guitar players. It is most associated with Celtic music, but is used also for other folk music songs, and sometimes also in totally different genres, as metal or rock. It was introduced by British fold guitarist Davey Graham, is currently used by many experienced guitar players who prefer it to the standard tuning.
