Canyon Calling is pleased to announce the Desert Dreams itinerary, a new experience in adventure travel!
On March 1, 2015, the Desert Dreams trip begins in California with an exciting six days ahead. During the first two nights, guests lodge at the Hotel California in Palm Springs, spending the first day cruising on bicycles and lounging by the pool before departing for dinner at Bernie’s. On day two of the itinerary, guests ascend the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway while taking in the stunning views during the two and a half mile journey to the Mountain Station, Mt. San Jacinto State Park. Guests will then embark upon a short hike on the Desert View Trail and enjoy lunch at the top before taking the tram back down to the Valley Station. Once back at the hotel, there is time to relax by the pool before setting out for the downtown walking tour of Palm Springs and dinner.
On day three, the group departs for Death Valley National Park, a region rich in contrasts and bold in dramatic scenery. While in Death Valley, guests will hike Gold Canyon, bike to Harmony Borax Works - an old ghost town with adobe buildings - and explore Mustard Canyon. Continuing on the tour of Death Valley, the group stops at Badwater, 282 feet below sea level, to breathe in the sights of Telescope Peak, 11,049 feet above sea level. While in the National Park, guests will experience the spring-fed thermal waters while spending two nights at The Ranch at Furnace Creek.
On day five, the group continues north through Death Valley with stops at Salt Creek and Ubehebe Crater, then travels east to visit Scotty’s Castle. After a tour of the Castle and lunch along the way, it’s time to head south for Las Vegas! Guests will enjoy a night at the Bellagio and experience a thrilling ride aboard a helicopter for a sunset flight over the strip as the city sparkles below. A Farewell Dinner provides the opportunity to create new memories and relive stories of everyone’s very own Desert Dreams.
Price is $2,295 per person and includes 6 days/5 nights fully guided tour, all guide gratuities, all land transportation, deluxe hotel accommodations, all meals, all activities and excursions, entrance fees and permits. Guests are responsible for transportation to Palm Springs and from Las Vegas. ###
