Born out of the search for the perfect capo, the founders of A&E Craft set off with the simple idea of making a capo that functioned the way they wanted it to. Unhappy with the current offerings, they researched and designed their ideal capo and then set about finding a manufacturer who could bring it to life.
After much tweaking and testing, the final result proved to be exactly what the owners of A&E Craft were after and the decision was quickly made to share this new design with other music lovers.
Traditionally dominated by brands such as Dunlop and Kyser, A&E Craft have produced a simple alternative to the competition, concentrating on getting the basic things right versus adding to the complexity.
Inclusions such as a padded grip, concealed spring and high-density silicone pads along with premium materials for strength and longevity also impress.
Cognisant that many people lack the strength to use most trigger capos, A&E Craft made ease of use a priority, for any strength level, whilst maintaining sufficient clamping force for perfect intonation. They achieved this feat by balancing strength, spring tension and leverage.
Designed primarily for acoustic and electric six-string guitars, the Ultima Capo is also suitable for most Banjos, Ukuleles and Mandolins. Released initially in Pearl Black, A&E Craft have stated that the colour range will include silver, gold and an as yet unannounced colour, early in 2015.
