The artist, who suffers from bipolar disorder, has expanded his repertoire to include street and nature photography. People who suffer from bipolar disorder experience extreme emotional swings. They can experience high anxiety and clinical depression.
Art has provided Mr. Enriquez an outlet for his disorder and has seen its therapeutic benefit when completely immersed in his creative craft. "I am closely influenced by the Abstract artists of the 19040's and the 1950's such as Mark Rothko. I try to simplify the world around me," says the bipolar artist. His dynamic use of colors and simple shapes engages audiences in their simplicity. The addition of photography also follows this same philosophy.
He has also launched a kickstarter project to help generate the funds to improve his gallery by increasing the number of artworks and elevate its online presence by advertising it on Facebook. He is looking at increasing the number of printable images in the DevolutionArt gallery from 15 to 25 digital images. This will involve photographing ten original paintings. Seven of them are complete and three more need to be painted. The artist intend to create a series of red paintings which will be called "Joy," "Eros," and "Agape."
"This is particularly challenging because it's contingent on several factors that are beyond my control. I will do my best to target the intended audience for which my art will appeal most." said Mr. Enriquez in his parting statement.
