"It's a step-by-step process," Jodie Hart, one of the Co-Founders of Kealoha Music, explains. "To go through the round-table discussions, come up with a name and brand for your business (and something that is directly in line with your vision and ideas) takes time and effort. It's not something that you just do...it takes months of planning and organizing before things start to come together."
Kealoha's love of music put the idea on the drawing board to start with. "We knew that, because of our experience in the music industry, we had the right framework to start a music business, but needed the timing to co-incide with the opportunity. When the opportunity came along, fortunately it was perfect timing for us to take that next step, and to dangle our feet in the water."
And they haven't looked back. Since starting their business, things have started to take creative shape. Website planning and preparation soon followed, with the end result being their newly opened online store.
"I really loved the whole process of setting up an E-Commerce shop", Jodie says. "It's challenging, fun, different, exciting - there's so many emotions! But if you stick with it and overcome any obstacles throughout then the end result is an amazing achievement and another goal to tick off the list."
Being a new business has its challenges, but Jodie is more than confident of a successful outcome. "Once you get an idea and run it, there's no stopping you! To anyone that is thinking of starting up their own business but is still sitting on the fence, I say, take the chance! Tomorrow may never come and you will never know what could have been..."
So what's in Kealoha's future? Stocking their shop, for starters. "We've just released an exciting and unique range of Ukuleles that are now available in our online store, and that will be followed by some Ukulele accessories in the coming weeks. From there, who knows, but I feel confident that our future will be bright and colorful, just like our Ukulele designs!"
