Newly formed Travel Navigator based in Pennsylvania will be producing a variety of accessories for travelers. The company was formed in June and its first product, a black travel wallet and passport holder, will be available for purchase in July, 2015.
Travel Navigator's Deluxe Travel Neck Wallet will feature RFID-blocking material to prevent identity theft by criminals who attempt to scan personal items that contain RFID tracking tags. This includes items commonly carried by travelers, such as passports and many of the newer credit cards.
The product will also help to prevent identity theft and pickpocketing by being worn around the neck rather than in a back pocket like a typical wallet. Travelers in crowded streets, subways, and events will be able to keep their valuables in front of them and on their body, making it harder for would-be thieves.
Charles Hynes of Travel Navigator spoke of the product's development process by saying "When we looked at the travel wallets and passport holders currently on the market we found that there are many common problems travelers experience in carrying their valuables and documents on the go. Many neck wallets are poorly designed or simply uncomfortable to wear. We set out to create a product that will be comfortable to wear, durable, and designed to hold the items needed."
