(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, January 08, 2017 ) Orlando, FL -- The usage of good manners seems to have gotten lost in society lately. It may seem old fashioned or "old school", but since when did being polite and respectful to our fellow inhabitants of planet earth go out of style? For centuries society was raised by a principle called the "Golden Rule". Various religions altered slightly the wording, but the concept remained the same. It stated humans should treat other people first, the way they would like to be treated. Great concept, and for a few hundred years it worked. Clarence Thomas once said, "Good manners will open doors that the best education cannot open."

There was a time when manners were not negotiable. Being taught etiquette was not really so much about what fork to use, but rather was education in how to properly treat others with respect. Today, a lot of people are wondering what has happened during the last decade or so, and why are people going around blatantly causing offense to one another?

All seems to point to a 'me' focus within current society. Children are being taught to speak what is on their mind, rather than to speak with great care to observe the rights of others around them.

Today, social media on the internet provides a huge platform for opinion sharing. This "say what you will and no one will know who said it" concept so commonly in use on the world-wide-web has turned into a nightmare of hate and despite pouring forth from all around the world. Also, with the invention of cell phones, people may now easily and without a computer system, send a text or an email and never have to communicate with people face-to-face.
Texting and tweeting encourage brief communications which can lead to lack of clarity, nuance and sensitivity; in other words, those forms of communication often lead to bad manners.

A large area of concern is that many parents and teachers today are not modeling proper behavior in front of kids, and thereby reinforcing good behavior patterns that could make life a little better for everyone concerned. After all, our world will not make itself better. It will become precisely what we cause it to be by our own actions and words.

"Please and "Thank you" were some of the first manners taught so long ago, but sadly are no longer found in everyone's vocabularies today! Even something as simple as saying "Excuse me", or giving up your seat for someone who is an invalid or older person has become a rarity indeed. Today you will sometimes see senior citizens stepping back and holding the door for other people entering a restaurant or business place. The words, "after you" are still in use, but becoming more and more rare!

Manners are important because the basis of modern society is communication, and good communication requires manners.
Manners can make a person more likable to their peers, can open doors to relationships, and can greatly help people to become more successful in business. Manners are ageless and priceless. Manners enable people to be treated with respect, and put people at ease by demonstrating to others they are important to you.

Manners should be manifested towards both the young and the old. Paying tribute to those who have given up so much to make a better life for everyone around and acknowledging that, is a great way set an example for younger generations who might be looking on.

Almost 2 decades ago, a large group of people took on the task of combining all ages into a large team, to produce high-scale musical shows featuring performers spanning over 60 years in differences of age. One of the traits emphasized that was needful from every person involved was good manners. The shows were especially aimed to draw seniors citizens, but over time the shows became popular with ALL ages! Eventually, the nearly 150 people putting on the shows had opportunity to bring happiness to many tens of thousands of people over a 17 year period of time. Good manners were stressed as important and were put into practice.

Today, 24K Gold Music Shows is no longer performing, but they have archived video productions of many hundreds of hours of shows performing a total of over 550 different songs. Viewing those videos will give opportunity to see good manners in action. They have channels on Facebook and YouTube, as well as web sites where you can 'tune in for free'. A new web site at www.C24K.com will soon be opening and will give even more free entertainment as 'good manners' in action are presented live!
