(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 17, 2011 ) New York, NY - Director Marcus K. Jones’ newest animated fashion film, “Picture Perfect Revenge” is what the audience wants everyday for the rest of their lives to look like.
A director and cinematographer specializing in branded content in the form of fashion films and campaign videos, JonesÂ’ body of work ranges from elegant product-driven portrayals of a designerÂ’s line to abstract experimental films embodying the spirit of the brand.
When fashion film directors Marcus K. Jones and Mikael Vojinovic collaborate, it always leads somewhere off center. Marcus is a narrative purist, and Mikael’s position is, “it would be stronger if she were nude,” purist. So, it's not uncommon for the two of them to review their footage and have to be inventive to fall comfortably in the category of art.
Yet, entertainment comes with ease. Staged with a comic theme, the off-center animated “Picture Perfect Revenge” is a portrayal of an enraged woman who has found photos of her cheating boyfriend. The noir animated, black and white is on par with the emotionally charged themes Jones and Vojinovic pursue.
Arguably a follow up to “Hot Photographer,” their first animated endeavor, the Revenge takes advantage of a post-production technology allowing for the transformation of live action video into simulated cartoon.
Currently in production a feature documentary called ‘The Tents’, where Marcus is serving as executive producer which chronicles the history of NY Fashion Week Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Carolina Hererra, and Fern Mallis, due to be released fall 2011 in conjunction with NY Fashion Week.
