Janet is the youngest in the world famous Jackson family. She was born in 1966 in a lower middle class home in Gary, Indiana. In a family full of bothers and sisters, the world famous singing diva was the youngest to be born. Singing was a passion and talent that came naturally to all the offspring in this family. While her brothers travelled the circuits living an extravagant and high life as the Jackson 5, Janet spent her childhood at home with her mother and other sisters. While the Jackson 5 was making headlines Janet lived in their shadow and was not acknowledged as a celebrity of the same caliber at the time. She got a major break in her career in 1977 when she landed the role of Penny Gordon in ‘Good Times’. This was her chance to showcase her potent talent as an actress.
