UFC sets stage for final Tito Ortiz versus Chuck Liddell showdown

(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 04, 2011 ) UFC delivers one of its best Pay Per Views (PPV) ever, Chris Leban sends Wanderlie Silva into possible retirement, Tito Ortiz makes a claim to the top ten 205 pound class, and Dominic Cruz tells the world that his belt is not going to be taken.

However, after the dust had settled, it seemed the MMA world was set for a possible magic trick from UFC president, Dana White, to showcased. The stage has been set like this: one crowd favorite submitted one of the hottest 205 pound fighters in the UFC and set the crowd into a frenzy. and two other crowd favorites sat sat in the stands witnessing history. One of them not happy at all, and one unphased about the rebirth of Tito Ortiz.

Liddell had his patented look of frustration and seemed very disgruntled about Tito Ortiz's victory over Ryan Bader. Another Hall of Famer, Randy Couture, reacted as if he could care less and he was enjoying his retirement. UFC camera's were in position to capture both former fighters immediately after the fight ended. Could Dana White be up to his old tricks? Will Dana White have his friend Chuck Liddell come out of retirement and attempt to finish the "Huntington Beach Bad Boy?"

Tito Ortiz displayed how experience is missing from the Ryan Bader resume and that he has not paid his dues in MMA like Ortiz has. Ortiz gives Ryan Bader a lesson in Jui Jitsu and delivers a clear message to the UFC light heavyweight division that he is anything but retired.

This is good news for many people, especially for Tito Ortiz. Tito is by far one of the best self-marketing fighters to ever fight in the UFC, and he is a crowd favorite, possibly more than any fighter in history. In short, he draws attention and people when he fights. This is also great mma news for anyone he fights.

Chuck Liddell, is also a crowd favorite and has beaten Tito twice and if there is ever a reason for Chuck Liddell to come out of retirement, this is probably it. Dana White could be orchestrating the biggest PPV card in the history of the UFC. Even though White has said Liddell will never fight in the UFC, the case might be very different because Liddell has beat him twice.

UFC 132 marked history in many regards, however it might just have been the beginning of more history to come.
