Kindle vs Nook Battle Gets Tougher with the Launch of the Amazon Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet eReaders

(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 29, 2011 ) CHAMPAIGN, IL -- According to Kevin James, the creator of the Kindle Fire Review, the Nook vs Kindle battle is nothing new. Although Amazon enjoyed a near monopoly in the ebook reader market the first couple of years, after Barnes and Noble launched their Nook Color ereader and first generation Nook eBook reader, the Amazon Kindle met with quite tough competition. “The Nook vs Kindle battle has undergone several generations of evolution” according to Kevin. First it was between the first generation Nook and Kindle and then it was the Kindle 2 and the Nook which

was followed by the Nook Touch vs Kindle 3. The latest phase of this battle is between their respective multimedia tablets, namely the Kindle Fire and the Nook Tablet.

“According to many ereader reviews, the Nook Tablet wins the hardware battle. In other words, as far as hardware specifications go, the Nook Tablet is ahead of the Kindle Fire” says Kevin. “However, when it comes to the price and content, the Amazon Kindle Fire is ahead of the Nook Tablet and we address this in detail on http://bestereaderreviews.net/amazon-kindle-fire-review/ and http://bestereaderreviews.net/nook-tablet-review-kindle-fire-vs-nook-tablet/” adds Kevin . The major shortcoming of the Nook Tablet compared to the Kindle Fire is that it doesn’t have a video streaming service comparable to Amazon’s Prime. It depends completely on 3rd party services like Netflix and Hulu. Amazon holds a clear edge here with their vast content libraries that range from books to music to movies and TV shows. “The Free shipping that comes with the Prime membership is also something that cannot be ignored” says Kevin.

Deciding between the Nook and Kindle is tough, but certainly not an impossible one to make.
