KAPOW! Marvel-lous Anna Easteden Demonstrates Superhero Savvy to Become Comic Book Cover Girl.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 17, 2012 ) Los Angeles, CA -- Although boasting a long and established career as an award-nominated actress, Anna Easteden walks down the street with a disguise that she reserves for a side of her career which is rarely publicized. Now, un-masking herself publically for the first time ever – Anna reveals that she is the comic book cover girl that millions have grown to love.

It’s an unlikely gig for an actress who has worked alongside the likes of Charlie Sheen in Two and a Half Men and has regularly appeared on screen in series including Bones and Days of our Lives. However, Easteden is proud of her many saddle-stitched alter egos.

Easteden has modelled for characters including Spiderman’s Mary Jane, X-Men’s fearless Rogue and Colleen Wing from Daughters of the Dragon.

“I must admit, being transformed into a comic book hero is a little different to regular acting or modelling work,” explains Finland-born Easteden, who now resides in Los Angeles with her Husband.

She continues, “It involves meeting with the artist, striking lots of day-saving poses while being photographed and then waiting for the photos to be drawn into comic book characters and scenes.”

To date Easteden has worked exclusively with artist Mike Mayhew, who has gripped the fantasy world with his comic book illustrations since 1993.

Easteden explains that seeing herself transformed from the photo studio into the comic book is always exciting.

“Screen actors always have a fair idea of how each scene will look, as we perform in the environment of that specific scene. However, it’s always a pleasant shock when I get to see the final illustrations from my comic book work. The photo session may have involved me posing as a shocked citizen of a city – and when the illustration arrives I discover than I am being carried down the side of a skyscraper in the arms of Spiderman. It’s amazing what the illustrators can do,” she says.

Mixing her passions for on-screen acting and in-comic action, Easteden is hoping to experience both within the same project.

“My dream is to play a character in a comic book-based movie. The past decade has seen a myriad of Marvel classics come to life on the big screen – and I would be honored to combine my talents and star in a future adaptation,” she adds.

In fact, Easteden has already enjoyed a taste of what the world of comic-based television has to offer, playing the evil Super Villain ‘Bee Sting’’ in four episodes of Stan Lee’s Who Wants to be a Superhero?

With an expansive portfolio to her name, Easteden is open to exploring any more offers that come her way. In the meantime, her schedule is jam-packed with television and modeling roles.

Despite having experienced the glamour and perks of life in the spotlight, Easteden maintains a strong passion for giving something back through a number of humanitarian projects.

She is an active voice for “The Way to Happiness Foundation International”, which tasks itself with creating a happy and successful life for everyone. The Foundation’s aim is to promote happiness and non-violence across mankind as a whole. Easteden is also a supporter of 'The Writers and Illustrators of the Future' -contest. In fact, just last month she presented an award for a first time illustrator winner from Sweden at the 28th annual award ceremony.

“I believe that those of us in the limelight can use our recognition to the benefit of others. I make a point to devote time, money and passion to helping my chosen causes. A lot of people in the world need help and it’s up to everyone to chip in and do their bit,” she explains.

The future certainly looks bright for the girl who grew up on a Finnish dairy farm and swapped her shovel for a spider’s web. However, until the world next needs saving, Easteden plans to walk the street without standing out from the crowd.
