(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, July 25, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA - Pishgaman Group, one of the leading IT Groups in Iran’s IT industry, launched Iran’s first underwater optical fiber line stretching to 400 km. under the Sea of Oman. Gracing the ceremonial launching held on Tuesday June 19, 2012, were high-ranking Iranian officials.
Yazd province’s Governor-General Mohammad Reza Fallahzadeh addressed the ceremony inaugurating the marine fiber project said, “Pishgaman Cooperatives Group was implemented as the first national project (in this field) in free waters through $50 million of domestic funding”. At the time of the event, the 400 km. long the underwater optical fiber cable from Iran to Oman was unveiled making the launching of the fiber project official.
In an interview with CEO of Pishgaman Group, Mr. Jawkar, he mentioned that after negotiating with Telecommunication Infrastracture Company (TIC) of Iran, they received the license of the project that allows them to transmit international traffic between Iran and international gateways up to 200Gbps. He added, “the first phase of the network will be connected through Chabahar’s gateway by six 10Gbps links. These links are based on DWDM technology with the capacity of 40Gbps”.
