(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, September 07, 2012 ) East Rutherford, NJ -- After Disney on Ice: Treasure Trove, which was recently concluded, comes Rockin’ Ever After, Disney’s ice skating spectacular for 2012. The new production called Rockin’ Ever After has launched its North American tour last August 31, 2012 in Lakeland, Florida, and is scheduled to visit more than 70 cities in all. It is expected to be in East Rutherford, NJ to perform at the Izod Center in late November. Izod Center tickets for the show are now selling at ACheapSeat.com.
Aside from East Rutherford, the show will be in Providence during the second week of September, in Richmond during the third week, and in Hampton by late September. Before it arrives in East Rutherford, it will also stop in Auburn Hills, Atlanta, Fairfax, and Baltimore all throughout October and in Hershey, Long Island, and Newark in early November.
After a week-long run at the Izod Center, Disney’s stars will skate over to Brooklyn, where they are scheduled to perform at the Barclays Center. They will then stop at Raleigh and Fayetteville, before ending the 2012 shows in Albany. Schedules for 2013 are yet to be released.
Disney on Ice has been bringing spectacular ice skating shows to kids and families all over the world for many years, but Rockin’ Ever After, its latest offer, will be memorable in many ways. For one thing, it will be the skating debut of Merida, the heroine from Disney Pixar’s latest animated film Brave.
Producer Nicole Feld describes Merida’s ice skating debut: “The most exciting part of bringing a fearless and independent character like Merida to the ice for the first time is knowing that she has a powerful and inspiring message to deliver about finding the courage to determine one’s own fate. We think her story translates well to the ice and will really resonate with today’s audience.”
At the same time, the Feld Entertainment production will feature Disney’s most adventurous heroines in one big adventure; these include Ariel, Belle, and Rapunzel. As their stories come together onstage, producer Juliette Feld was faced with a challenge: “Our challenge in developing Rockin’ Ever After was figuring out how to highlight moments from these beloved stories in a way that reflects the type of entertainment that families value today.”
Behind the scenes, Rockin’ Ever After will feature director Patty Vincent, writer Jeremy Desmon, and choreographer Cindy Stuart. Walt Spangler has been chosen for scenic design, while Cynthia Nordstrom will be at the helm of costume design. Lighting will be designed by Sam Doty.
Disney on Ice: Rockin’ Ever After will be at the Izod Center from November 20 to 25, 2012. There will be a total of 10 shows there, giving Disney fans in NJ plenty of time to catch Mickey and the gang on their beloved ice skating stage.
