The news of Avril and Chad’s engagement has definitely come as a great surprise for fans as Lavigne had a strong public relationship with the American reality star, Brody Jenner.
It seemed like both the Canadian superstars kept their relationship a secret from most of the people and very few knew about their relationship. It was reported that the couple had been dating for six months before their engagement news became public.
A family friend of Avril Lavigne told People Magazine that Chad Kroeger makes Lavigne very happy and both the families are extremely excited about their engagement.
The 37-year-old songwriter, singer and guitarist, Chad Kroeger, proposed to Avril with a 14-carat diamond ring, which also took her by surprise. The couple first met when Lavigne was working on her new song of her most recent album with Chad and it did not take much time for them to fall in love after that.
Although Kroeger and Lavigne have not yet spoken about their relationship publically, their fans around the world have already started congratulating them via social media websites.
This is not going to be the first marriage for Avril Lavigne. Previously, Avril was married to Deryck Whibley, who is the lead guitarist of the band, Sum 41. After three years of marriage, Lavigne and Whibley separated in 2009.
