(Entertainment-NewsWire.com, September 14, 2012 ) Laguna Beach, CA – Last August 25, the Pageant of the Masters performed at the Irvine Bowl. The event was hosted by Oscar award winner Marcia Gay Harden.
Harden praised the audience and volunteers for being committed to the arts. She said: “My daughter and I attended the Pageant last year and were amazed not only by the beauty of the production but also by the dedication of the many volunteers in the cast and behind the scenes.”
The special Pageant of the Masters event was held right after The Acura Celebrity Event, Concert and Pageant at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts. The concert featured five-time Grammy winner Christopher Cross, who also has an Oscar and a Golden Globe award to his name. Cross performed to almost 3,000 fans during the concert, in which guests were also given a private showing of the Festival of Arts Fine Art Show.
Cross is one of the biggest stars that went back to the 80s. He virtually defined adult contemporary radio and is known for several hit ballads including ‘Sailing’.
During the post-concert performance, host Marcia Gay Harden was also tasked to pull the winning ticket for the 2013 Acura RDX AWD with Tech Package and $5,000 in cash. The lucky winner was Sheila Yee-Murrin from Bellflower, California.
The critically acclaimed performance ‘The Genius’ from the Pageant of the Masters concluded the evening.
All in all, the event brought in approximately $23,000, which will be used for future arts programming as well as in the Building Fund, which seeks to improve the Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters facility.

The Festival of Arts is a non-profit organization and the name behind the Pageant of the Masters.
No further announcements regarding upcoming events were made during the event. The Pageant of the Masters, which is held annually in July and August, was just recently concluded, and the next is still a long way off.
